NL: Van maandag 24 januari t.e.m. vrijdag 28 januari 2022 presenteren de onderzoekers van het RITCS School of Arts hun artistiek en theoretisch onderzoek tijdens Future Narratives.

Saddie Choua organiseert binnen haar doctoraatsonderzoek The Personal is (not) political aan RITCS/VUB een aantal reading groups. Graag nodigt ze u uit voor Het Blauwste Oog van Nobelprijswinnares Toni Morrison. We lezen, bespreken, bekijken video's en luisteren naar muziek. Thema is het psychofysische trauma veroorzaakt door racisme.

In Het Blauwste Oog beschrijft Toni Morrison de verregaande invloed van het racisme op een zwarte familie. Twee zwarte zusjes die zich vergapen aan hun witte buurmeisje en daardoor hun eigen schoonheid niet kunnen zien.

Je hoeft het boek niet op voorhand gelezen te hebben om deel te nemen.

In The Bluest Eye, Toni Morrison describes the far-reaching influence of racism on a black family. Two black sisters who gaze at their white neighbor and cannot see their own beauty.

You do not need to have read the book beforehand in order to participate.
