Over de voorstelling

‘Achieving life is not the equivalent of avoiding death’

This quote, one of the key beliefs of Ayn Rand’s objectivism, is a big reoccurring theme in our performance. If you want to live a great life, you have to make it a great life.

The American Dream, the idea that; you can be who you want to be, have what you want to have and earn what you want to earn as long as you are willing to work for it.

Ayn Rand believes that this is the ultimate truth and she is willing to take it even further, she famously claimed that radical egoism is something that we should strive for. The CEO of our story is a 21st century version of a Randian hero that has come to life, a workaholic who is not afraid to claim what’s hers. In this performance she will be telling us about how she became who she is today, but we will also take a look into some more private moments of her life, she will be interacting with an ensemble of physical and musical actors who present 'the general public', the 'irrational masses'. Our ensemble comments on the actions and stories of our CEO, sometimes they praise her, other times they want to destroy her, why does it seem impossible for them to have what she has? Is this a classic example of survivors bias, or are they just not working hard enough?
