Directing
Do you want to tell stories that truly resonate? Bring your ideas to life in compelling fiction films or impactful documentaries? In this programme, you’ll grow into an artistic leader who inspires and guides an entire crew. You’ll develop into a confident director with a unique, poetic, and dramatic perspective on reality.
A Unique Perspective
As a director, you observe the world with a unique and personal vision. You’ll learn to view reality critically and creatively, building a strong dramaturgical foundation. Even in everyday moments, you’ll find inspiration. The program encourages you to tell surprising stories through humour, abstraction, and philosophical approaches. In Brussels, your vibrant and diverse study city, you’ll find plenty of societal context and inspiration to fuel your creativity. Your work will provoke, move, and challenge audiences.
From Idea to Reality
A director is the creative cornerstone in transforming an idea into a finished production. From day one of the program, you’ll explore every stage of filmmaking. You’ll develop scripts, refine your artistic vision, and oversee the entire process—from filming to post-production. You’ll grow into a creator who makes bold choices with knowledge, creativity, and confidence.
Filmmaking is a Collaborative Art
As a director, you inspire and unite a team of specialists. During the program, you’ll work closely with students from other disciplines, such as Writing, Production, Cinematography, Sound Design, and Editing. Together, you’ll create projects that highlight the power of collaboration. You’ll learn not only how to lead and motivate a team but also how to integrate their expertise into your vision to achieve a stronger final result.
