Creativity and Organization 

Without a producer, there’s no film, series, documentary, or program. A skilled producer knows how to transform ideas into tangible projects. During the Production program, you’ll explore every aspect of this multifaceted role. You’ll combine business acumen with a passion for the audiovisual medium, learning how to unite creativity and structure seamlessly. 

The Heart of Every Production 

As a producer, you’re the driving force behind every project. You bring people, resources, and creativity together, ensuring that every aspect of production runs smoothly—from script development to financial planning. You’ll develop the ability to turn your vision into concrete results, maintaining quality and meeting deadlines along the way. 

From Idea to Screen

This program guides you through every step of the production process. You’ll learn how to select ideas, assemble teams, create budgets, and coordinate the creative journey. In your master’s year, you’ll apply this knowledge in an independent production project, overseeing everything from concept to distribution. 

Collaboration and Making an Impact

As a producer, you’re at the center of a network of creative professionals. You’ll master collaboration, negotiation, and leadership, while translating creators’ visions into actionable plans. Thanks to your organizational talent, ideas won’t stall but will evolve into productions that leave a lasting impact.

First Year

Building the Foundation 

In the first year, you’ll join students from other disciplines—such as Directing, Cinematography, Writing, Sound Design, and Editing—to discover the fundamentals of audiovisual production. You’ll build a strong cultural and technical foundation with courses like Art and Film History, while taking your first steps into production processes, including planning and teamwork. Through collaborative workshops and exercises, you’ll learn how different roles within a production complement one another. You’ll also be creatively challenged as a maker yourself.

Second Year

Deepening and Hands-On Experience 

In the second year, you’ll delve into how storytelling drives the production process. You’ll learn to create budgets, craft schedules, and understand the relationship between artistic and logistical decisions. You’ll also gain insight into post-production processes. Practical workshops and projects provide opportunities to immediately apply these skills. Your first hands-on experiences will help you maintain oversight and shape your role as a producer. Courses in Political Theory, Cultural Theory, Film Analysis, and Film History will further expand your cultural knowledge. In the Transversal Workshop, you’ll collaborate with students from other academic disciplines on artistic research in the inspiring environment of Brussels.

Third Year

Professionalizing and Leading

In your third year, you’ll tackle more complex tasks such as budgeting, financing, and marketing. You’ll independently produce a short film under the guidance of a lecturer, allowing you to refine your skills as an organizer and leader. This year prepares you for greater independence and responsibility in larger projects.

Master's Year

Specialization and Vision

The master’s program is the final step towards a professional career. As your thesis, you’ll develop your own project and independently produce a short film, attending masterclasses by inspiring professionals. You’ll receive advanced training in international financing, distribution, post-production management, and animation production. With your completed master’s degree, you’ll not only have a strong vision but also practical experience and a network to confidently launch your career as a producer.

Bridging Programme

Already hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree but have a passion for the film world and want to make the leap? The 'Production' programme offers a shortened bachelor track.

To enrol in this track, you must pass one of the admission exams for the Production programme. If successful, we’ll work together to create a tailored one-year individual study plan based on your prior education. You will receive an intensive course covering the fundamentals of audiovisual production: idea development, organisation, budgeting, and marketing, along with assignments that translate theory into practice.

After earning a bachelor's in Production, you can also progress to a master's degree.

Admission Test

To start this programme, you must first pass an artistic admission test. The admission test consists of three parts: a dossier, an intake or selection interview and a workshop week. Read more about the admission tests here.
