We will be welcoming colleagues from our partner institutions giving lectures, workshops or seminars which will enrich the dialogue and enhance the intercultural competences of our students. Opening: 'The Future of Europe and the Role of Higher Education'
On Monday the 3d of December our students and staff will be welcomed by Ann Brusseel, the Vice-Chancellor of EhB, at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels for the opening of the International Days. Mr. Herman Van Rompuy, President Emeritus of the European Council, has kindly accepted to be our keynote speaker at the opening session. Van Rompuy will be talking about 'The Future of Europe and the Role of Higher Education'.
A politician from Belgium's Christian Democratic and Flemish party, Van Rompuy served as the 49th prime minister of Belgium from 30 December 2008. Van Rompuy was selected by the members of the European Council, which is the institution of the European Union (EU) comprising the heads of state or government of the EU member states, as the first full-time President of that Council under the Treaty of Lisbon. He was appointed for the period from 1 December 2009 until 31 May 2012. On 1 March 2012 he was re-elected for a second (and last) term, to last from 1 June 2012 until 30 November 2014.
Screenings CINEMA RITCS
During the International Days, CINEMA RITCS will be hosting several screenings with various guest-speakers. On Monday the 3rd of December the students of Cinéclub RITCS will focus on several Belgian Short Films by various directors, in collaboration with Kortfilm.be. On Tuesday 4th of December, cult expert Ernest Mathijs will introduce the 80's feature film 'Roar'. Dominiek Hoens will conclude the series with a screening of 'Le Fond de l’Air est Rouge' in collaboration with Centrale Brussels.
During the International Days we will be welcoming Ernest Mathijs, Michal Kondrla, Anders Larsson and Anne Van Melick from our partner institutions giving lectures, workshops or seminars which will enrich the dialogue and enhance the intercultural competences of our students.
Our Masters Screenwriting will be attending the Masterclass Worldview versus Dramaturgy by Ernest Mathijs. The Bachelor students Editing will be joining Michal Kondrla for a lecture on 'Editing for short films'. "Is the storyline clear? Is the structure coherent? Are the scenes effective? Are you satisfied? If you can answer "yes" to these questions, you're finished with your film." Anders Larsson will organise a historical lecture in theatre for our Bachelor students Stagemanagement. The lecture will focus on 'Crossing over from candle light to LED'.
