Transversa(a)l atelier. Een dialoog/ A Dialogue. Ernst Maréchal & Julia Clever & students

NL: Van maandag 24 januari t.e.m. vrijdag 28 januari 2022 presenteren de onderzoekers van het RITCS School of Arts hun artistiek en theoretisch onderzoek tijdens Future Narratives.

We nodigen graag iedereen met interesse in participatieve projecten en artistieke co-creatie uit voor een dialoog over de transversale praktijk op RITCS.

Al elf jaar lang is het transversaal atelier voor de studenten van het tweede jaar een manier om uit het keurslijf van de school te breken en de stad Brussel in te trekken.

Het atelier als immersie, als een werkwijze om de maatschappelijke en stedelijke werkelijkheid te ervaren, te onderzoeken en te verbeelden.

Het atelier als een heterogene verzameling van mogelijke methodieken, benaderingen om aan een artistieke praktijk te werken, vanuit een sociale dimensie(s) én zonder vooropgezet of persoonlijk concept.

Het atelier als een manier om vertrouwd te geraken met de minder voor de hand liggende participatieve kunstuitingen, waarbij er samengewerkt wordt met studenten uit alle mogelijke RITCS-opleidingen, waarbij er gezocht wordt naar manieren van co-creatie met een specifieke plek, met een al dan niet heldere thematiek, of met een bijzondere groep mensen.

Het atelier als een vorm van ‘op praktijk gebaseerd artistiek onderzoek’ op maat van de studenten. Zo’n creatieproces is een duik in het onbekende, observatie en dialoog zijn fundamenteel en onderweg neemt men zowel sociale als artistieke standpunten in

In de onderzoeksweek presenteren zowel studenten als docenten het transversaal atelier. Ze zullen dit doen aan de hand van een manifest dat vanuit diverse individuele ervaringen collectief wordt herschreven. En in een open dialoog kan het publiek de tekst aanvullen, aanpassen, herschrijven, maar ook doen sneuvelen.

ENG: From the 24th until the 28th of January 2022 artistic researchers of RITCS School of Arts will present their work, trajectory, their artistic and theoretic research results during Future Narratives.

We like to invite everyone with an interest in participatory projects and artistic co-creation to a discussion about transversal practice at RITCS.

For eleven years now, the transversal atelier has been a way for second year students to break out of the straitjacket of the school and enter the city of Brussels.

The atelier as immersion, as a way of experiencing, researching and representing social and urban reality.

The atelier as a heterogeneous collection of possible methods, approaches to work on an artistic practice, from a social dimension(s) and without a preconceived or personal concept.

The atelier as a way to get familiar with the less obvious participatory art expressions, working together with students from all possible RITCS courses, looking for ways of co-creation with a specific place, with a clear or not clear theme, or with a special group of people.

The atelier as a form of 'practice-based artistic research' tailored to the students. Such a creative process is a dive into the unknown, observation and dialogue are fundamental, and along the way one takes up social as well as artistic positions.

In the research week, both students and teachers will present the transversal atelier. They will do this by means of a manifesto that will be rewritten collectively on the basis of various individual experiences. And in an open dialogue, the public can add to, amend, rewrite, but also make the text collapse.
