My Twentieth Century (1989)

  • CINEMA RITCS

Dazzled in the lights of early cinema, “My Twentieth Century” stands as a slightly absurd exploration of two extreme mindsets, one of anarchy the other of hedonism.Placed at the birth of silent cinema two infants grow up separated and emerge as the embodiment of both communism and capitalism. Dorota Segda gives a fantastic double performance as Dóra and Lili. With great control and a strong feminist touch Ildikó Enyedi brings to life characters in a modern day fairy tale. Tibor Máthé’s creates a strong and poignant cinematography in a debut worthy of praise.
