Little baby Jesus of Flandr (2010) - Gust Van den Berghe

Nederlands: Met LITTLE BABY JESUS OF FLANDR (2010) leverde de toen 24-jarige regisseur Gust Van den Berghe een zeer ambitieus en gedurfd werk af. De bijna volledig in zwart-wit geschoten film gaat over drie daklozen, gespeeld door acteurs met Down’s Syndrome, die op een Kerstavond in een Belgisch bos ineens getuige zijn van de geboorte van het Kindeke Jezus. Met een mythische, mysterieuze sfeer en thema’s als geloof, het leven en materialisme wist Van den Berghe de aandacht van Cannes te trekken. Prachtige muziek en liefdevolle rollen voor personages die we in weinig commerciële films zien, maakten LITTLE BABY JESUS tot een memorabel werk.
