(NL) Van 27 tot en met 31 januari staat het RITCS een hele week lang in het teken van onderzoek. De focus van deze onderzoeksweek ligt op FUTURE NARRATIVES, verhalen van de toekomst.
International Joined Research Group in Cinematography
De namiddagsessie verruimt de discussie over de relevantie van de onderzoeksresultaten met andere experts op dit terrein, waaronder Kommer Kleijn die zijn laatste onderzoek rond ‘High Frame Rate’ (HFR) voorstelt.
De onderzoeksgroep Cinematography in Progress bouwt een brug tussen het academische onderzoek en de artistieke praktijk en het artistiek onderzoek van cinematografie. In filmstudies is het innovatief en origineel om cinematografie te bestuderen met artistiek onderzoek als vertrekpunt.
Professionele praktijken zoals cinematografie worden nog al te vaak aanzien als een louter technische discipline, en niet als een artistiek medium. Voor velen die op dit terrein werken, is het een gemiste kan om de culturele en artistieke bijdrage van dit vak aan cinema niet te erkennen.
Dit evenement zal mogelijk in het Engels plaatsvinden.

The afternoon session opens up the discussion about the relevance of the research results, with experts in this field, among them Kommer Kleijn who will present his last research about ‘High Frame Rate’ (HFR). The research group Cinematography in Progress builds a bridge between academic theoretical research and the artistic practice/ the research of cinematography.
The concept of developing cinemaphotography as research strand starting from the artistic practice is highly innovative and cutting edge. Currently, professional activities such as cinematography are predominately seen as a technical discipline rather than an artistic medium. For many working in this field, it is a missed opportunity not to acknowledge the cultural and artistic contribution of this profession to cinema.
