they shoot horses was a disco dance marathon organised in 2004 with a group of young people in Ramallah, Palestine during the Second Intifada. After the screening Phil Collins will be in conversation with Hossam Alfarra.
Phil Collins is a visual artist, filmmaker, community organiser, and educator renowned for a socially engaged practice which addresses the intersections of art, politics and lived experience. Across geographies, ethnicities, languages, and social classes, his approach is guided by an ethos of connection and a sustained engagement with the local context.
Hossam Alfarra is a Palestinian activist from Gaza and organiser with Palestinian café in Utrecht, a community place to talk about all that is Palestine.
FUTURE NARRATIVES VI, that means a whole year of research events at the RITCS. Artistic research and reflection is made visible in workshops, lectures, screenings, reading groups, … you name it.
